The drama in this felt overdone and contrived. There was a lot of repeated information / thoughts throughout the story and within inner monologues that I feel should have been weeded out. It made the dialogue in many cases seem stilted, stiff, and unnatural. But there were a few things that kept me from fully enjoying this.įor one, a BIG pet peeve of mine with dialogue is when a character reiterates a fact or tidbit the person they are speaking to would already know, but it’s added in the conversation for the sake of the reader’s knowledge or to serve as a reminder of something that happened in a past book. I am most definitely looking forward to the books she has to come. The overall theme is something I think many will relate to and the steamy scenes were great. While Kennedy can write some INSANELY beautiful prose, I hate to admit this was not my favorite from her and I think the story was a bit all over the place.
