It’s true that Gordon was reinvented as Oracle and became a fan-favourite character. The table was set for a great Batgirl story as the character hadn’t been the focus of a big story in a long time. This shouldn’t come as a big surprise as Chuck Dixon had written the character a lot throughout the 90s, and it shows that he had a good understanding of her. The strength of this story is the characterization of Batgirl herself. Dressed in a Batman-inspired costume, she is unexpectedly thrust into the world of superheroes as Batgirl. Everything changes when she encounters Killer Moth from robbing a Masquerade Ball. due to not meeting the minimum height requirement, she finds herself running out of options. ![]() After being rejected by both the police and the F.B.I.
